MARCEL BREUER

Marcel Lajos Breuer is one of the great architects and furniture designers of the 20th century. One of the most crucial innovations in the timeline of the modern chair. The simple yet elegant design is found worldwide and is arguably the best in its structure, sturdiness, and beauty. The back and seat are made from a rattan cane on a chrome frame, some of the most ecological materials. Two critical milestones in the history of modern furniture are Breuer's profoundly influential chairs: the Wassily and the B32. Fascinated by bicycle handlebars, Breuer and Mart Stam used non-reinforced tubular steel to invent the 20th-century modern chair. The B32 was the real game-changer: It offered a comfortable bounce and seemed like human floating in the air.
